Held, Healed and Restored in Christ

On 9 May 2026, TrusT CSI Projects held the first session of its Spiritual Formation Programme at the Theodorah Ndaba Victim Support Centre in Daveyton. The gathering created a gentle, faith-filled space where women and children affected by trauma could experience encouragement, dignity and genuine belonging.

Thirty-nine people were served, including eight women residents and thirteen children. Everyone shared a warm meal, while the women received personal care packs and reflection journals and the children received age-appropriate gifts and essentials.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was listening. The women spoke openly about their dreams: starting bakeries and beauty businesses, pursuing careers, working in social services and building healthier futures. Their voices helped shape the direction of the sessions that followed, moving the programme beyond immediate relief and towards confidence, skills and long-term empowerment.

This first gathering was made possible by the generous support of our US-based partner, Decrease 2 Increase (D2I), A Brown El Family Foundation. Their investment of USD 380 helped 39 people feel seen, nourished and valued—and laid the foundation for a continuing journey of hope.

Journeys of Hope: The Prince of Egypt Experience

Our second gathering at the Theodorah Ndaba Victim Support Centre was a day of storytelling, fellowship and joyful, deeply personal moments.

The women began by reflecting on their journeys since the first session. Several shared that the journals they received in May had become a comforting outlet through which they could process their thoughts and support their healing. The group then enjoyed a screening of The Prince of Egypt, using its themes of courage, deliverance and hope to open meaningful conversation.

For the children, the day included popcorn, juice, sweet packs and personalised crayon boxes. A shared pizza lunch brought everyone together, while each woman received a baby-pink satin gown embroidered with her name. These were simple but intentional gestures, reminding every participant that she is known and valued as an individual.

The event was made possible by our US-based partner, Decrease 2 Increase (D2I), A Brown El Family Foundation. Through their USD 345 contribution, TrusT CSI Projects was able to provide the meal, programme materials, transport and personalised gifts. It was a beautiful reminder that dignity is often restored through thoughtful details—and that even an ordinary moment can become extraordinary when it is filled with care.

Seeds of Hope — Mandela Day

On Nelson Mandela Day, TrusT CSI Projects gathered with the women and children of the Theodorah Ndaba Victim Support Centre for Seeds of Hope—a practical empowerment programme designed to move from immediate support towards lasting readiness.

Twenty-seven people participated, including nineteen adults and volunteers, six children and two babies. The women explored opportunities to complete or improve their Matric results, access further education and develop workplace skills. A work-readiness session covered CV preparation, safe and credible job-search platforms and interview techniques. Each woman then took part in a one-on-one mock interview, receiving individual attention while sharing her aspirations, experience and the barriers standing between her and her next opportunity.

A parallel children’s programme allowed mothers to participate fully, while providing the children with supervised activities, toys, treats and essential supplies. Everyone also shared a warm spaghetti bolognese lunch, fresh salad and dessert.

This Mandela Day programme was made possible by the continued generosity of our US-based partner, Decrease 2 Increase (D2I), A Brown El Family Foundation. Their R6,000 contribution enabled TrusT CSI Projects to combine nourishment, education and personal support—helping women take practical, confident steps towards greater independence.

Held, Equipped and Celebrated — Women’s Day

In celebration of Women’s Day, TrusT CSI Projects returned to the Theodorah Ndaba Victim Support Centre with a programme created to remind every woman that she is held, equipped and worthy of celebration.

The day’s programme combined spiritual encouragement with practical knowledge. Following a warm welcome and opening prayer, the women explored how a small business can begin with an existing skill, a community need and one affordable first step. The session introduced simple ways to test an idea, price a product or service, separate personal and business money, and find trustworthy sources of free training, mentorship and registration support.

Mental wellness was also given dedicated space, responding directly to needs previously identified by the women. A Women’s Day reflection, shared lunch and gifts of care reinforced the message that every participant is seen, valued and deeply loved. A separate children’s programme included check-in time, cartoons, colouring, outdoor play, lunch and gifts, allowing the women to participate fully.

This gathering was made possible by our US-based partner, Decrease 2 Increase (D2I), A Brown El Family Foundation. Their partnership continues to help TrusT CSI Projects create safe, faith-filled spaces where practical empowerment and compassionate care can grow side by side.

The dialogue your team facilitated was inclusive and allowed each participant's vulnerability to surface organically. It served the theme of the day perfectly, and we hope this collaboration remains mutually beneficial well beyond the partnership.
